Josephine Naughton VIEW PROFILE

Josephine "Joey" Naughton of Scranton died Wednesday in Moses Taylor Hospital.

Born in Scranton, daughter of the late John J. and Margaret Ann Popp Naughton, she was a member of St. Paul's Church, educated in Scranton public schools and a graduate of Scranton Central High School, class of 1988, and Lackawanna Junior College, class of 1990. Before her illness, she was employed by PNC Bank.

Joey was a loving and devoted sister and aunt who will be deeply missed. She enjoyed collecting Tasmanian Devils, her movie nights with her niece and attending bingo.

Surviving are five sisters, Marie Carter and companion, Barnard Carter; Sharon Naughton, Cheryl Coyer and husband, Nicholas, all of Scranton; Margaret Ann Hatala, Mayfield; and twin sister, Jacqueline Minich and husband, John, Dupont; her companion, David Thomas May of Scranton; nephews, John Minich, Leroy Carter, Michael Minich and Daniel Carter; one niece, Amber Carter; one great-nephew, Gabriel Nieves; and one great-niece, Audrianna Velez.

The funeral will be Saturday at 9 a.m. in the McGoff-Hughes Funeral Home Inc., 1401 Capouse Ave., with Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30 in St. Paul's Church, 1510 Penn Ave., to be celebrated by Monsignor William Feldcamp, pastor. Interment, Cathedral Cemetery, Scranton.

Friends may call Friday, 4 to 8 p.m.

Grew up with Jackie and Joey in Green Ridge....Went to K-12 with them. My thoughts go out to Jackie and her family.
